The “Clack” safety lock was created to resolve the Telecom Italia road cabinet issue: cabinets remaining open. The open cabinet situation derived from the fact that technicians, after having worked on the cabinet, forgot to close the cabinet lock with the specific key or bolt and so the cabinets were left open and accessible to anyone wanting to connect illegally or vandalise property.
This obviously caused unwelcomed stress for the provider. The need therefore arose to equip the cabinets with an automatic lock system activated by simply pushing the door shut with your hand, without the need of keys or similar devices. Composit Italia took on the situation and began to study, along side its technical staff, the safety lock system.
A previous external bracket did not satisfy us and subsequently a new product we called the “Clack” was born. This lock, different from traditionally used systems, defines a new type of system which allows for hermetic closure of all cabinets with the sole push of the door which automates the mechanical lock system, not necessitating of ulterior keys or devices.
The door can only be opened via the keys given to the technicians. Composit Italia registered the design Patent at the Barzanò & Zanardo Roma S.p.A. office in the year 2007. “Clack” Safety Locks were made for road cabinets such as those used by “Enel”. The “Clack” substitutes the traditional mechanical lock which, in time, gives way to mechanical deterioration such as rust and oxidation and it permits us to use just one key to open cabinets.
